Clarkston Foundation

The Clarkston Foundation is a non-profit charitable trust organization dedicated to enriching the cultural arts and science education of the children in the Clarkston Community. Innovative ideas and unique programs are supported with contributions coming from groups and individuals in the greater Clarkston area.

Volunteers make this go!
The Clarkston Foundation is an all volunteer 501c-(3) non-profit charitable organization that helps our kids expand their learning through grants in the arts and sciences. Over 250 members of the Clarkston Foundation support these efforts annually.

Growing and giving
We are proud of our strong history! Since its grass-roots inception in 1989, the Clarkston Foundation has consistently provided positive programs for children living in the Clarkston Area. Currently, the CF endowments are valued at more than $350,000 . The Foundation has awarded over $175,000 in classroom grants for the arts and sciences. Over the past ten years, over 15,000 students have benefited from these new programs and initiatives. The Foundation board is proud of the growth of the Foundation and is excited about the future.

We support the Performing Arts
Since the beginning, the Foundation has had a heart for the arts. When the new high school opened in 1998, the Foundation created a Performing Arts Endowment based on an honorary theater seat sale. This support enabled Clarkston High School to purchase the “rights” to three musicals. In April 2002, Clarkston produced the first of the musicals, “Anything Goes” at the Performing Arts center with a Foundation grant of $3,625.

Scholarships for our kids
Since 1994, over $50,000 in scholarship money has been awarded by the Clarkston Foundation. Many of our recipients are now working successfully in the medical, business and engineering fields. The scholarship program benefits Clarkston are students who have demonstrated a successful interest in the arts or sciences. High school seniors who have resided in the Clarkston School District for a minimum of one year, play an active role in the community, and carry a GPA of 3.5 or higher are eligible. Summer Camp scholarships are also available.  Each year the Foundation awards $10,000 in scholarships to students attending various summer educational programs.  The Clarkston Foundation invests in the future of our children, in Clarkston and beyond.

Each year, students in the Clarkston school district experience a wide variety of educational and cultural programs supported through grants from the Clarkston Foundation.

Since its inception, the Foundation has financially supported over 250 programs that enhance students’ academic instruction and enrich students’ overall education experience.

Contact the foundation today to see how you can support our efforts to promote quality education and to encourage lifelong learning in our schools.
