Outstanding Classroom Teacher Recognition Program The Clarkston Foundation along with Suburban Ford of Waterford is proud sponsors of the Clarkston Community Schools Teacher of the Year program. An outstanding professional educator is selected each year by a nomination process. Students, former students, parents, colleagues, administrators, or members of the general public are invited to nominate teachers. The eligibility alternates each year between the following categories of teachers:
This year we will be recognizing an Elementary Teacher. Nomination forms will be available at this website or at school buildings in the early spring of 2010. An impartial selection committee comprised of local citizens selects the “Teacher of the Year” from those nominated through a careful screening process using specific criteria. The “Teacher of the Year” receives the free use of a new Ford car of their choosing for a full year, courtesy of Suburban Ford of Waterford. The announcement is made at a reception sponsored by the Foundation for all of the current year nominees.
